Project Overview

The Challenge

Design Goals

Create a distraction-free reading experience for technical content

Design intuitive category navigation and content filtering

Encourage content discovery through related articles and tags

Drive newsletter sign-ups through contextual placement

Design Approach

Typography-First Layout

Chose a reading-optimised column width with generous line height and carefully selected font sizes. Body text uses a serif-friendly weight for sustained reading.

Article Listing Design

The blog index uses a magazine-style grid with featured articles at the top and a clean list below. Each card shows the title, excerpt, category tag, and feature image.

Content Discovery

Implemented related articles, popular posts, and tag-based navigation. A sticky sidebar on article pages shows the table of contents for long-form pieces.

Outcome

  • Clean, content-focused blog design optimised for reading
  • Intuitive navigation supporting complex content taxonomies
  • Strategic CTA placement encouraging subscriptions
  • Responsive layout adapting from desktop to mobile
